Water Safety Day Camps
The Lifesaving Society's Water Safety Day Camps operate
throughout the summer and bring the Society's essential Swim, First
Aid, Lifesaving and Lifeguard training programs to communities
accross Prince Edward Island.
Customized according to the age and skill levels of the
participants, our week-long camps are taught by certified
instructors who provide an enjoyable and educational experience for
children in a safe and fun environment. Don't miss this opportunity

Transition from the Canadian Red Cross to the Lifesaving
Society
The Canadian Red Cross has decided to wind down its involvement
in all swim and lifeguard programming across Canada in order to
direct more attention to surging humanitarian demands in other
areas. As part of that decision, Red Cross worked closely with
Lifesaving Society Prince Edward Island to ensure a smooth
transition of the PEI Water Safety Day Camp program.

Water Safety Day Camps - Program Overview
The Lifesaving Society's Water Safety Day Camps travel accross
Prince Edward Island for nine weeks throughout the summer to
provide weeklong sessions to different communities accorss the
province. The Day Camps feature two streams:
Swimming Lessons: designed for children ages 5+
who want to improve their swimming skills. Participants will
progress through the Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life program. No
previous swimming experience is necesary.

Lifeguard Academy: designed for adolescents
ages 13+ who have previous swimming experience. Participants will
complete the Society's Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and Standard
First Aid courses - certifying them as Assistant Lifeguards and
providing them with all the necesary prerequisites to register for
the Lifesaving Society's National Lifeguard program.
